THEATRE IN ENGLISH - THE VIKINGS-

  This is a cross-curricular project that works on different areas of the curriculum. English, Science and Art subjects are involved in the making of. A play planned, written and made by the children of year 4. We hope you enjoy it!

ENGLISH POEMS INTO RAP PERFORMANCES:

A BIOGRAPHY RAP.

We have been working on raps. Raps are poetry, so we worked on rhyme and rhythm as well as grammar.

First, we saw the Michael Rosen "biography rap" and as we liked it a lot we decided to make our own raps as funny as the Mr.Rosen one.

We wanted to organize a "poetry slam". We worked in groups to create our biography rap. Each child had to invent 4 lines/verses that rhymed A A B B or A B A B. The verses should start like this "when I was... I did.." and the rhyme should be in past. As we worked in groups of 4 or 5 people, our poems had at about 16 verses.

Then, it came the funniest part. After we learnt our verses we added rhythm.
